Airport fit: Small family / executive group
Luggage: Keep practical passenger count below nominal seats when suitcases are large
Deira, Al Qusais, Downtown and small-family airport departures.
View Fleet OptionBook a private Dubai to Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) transfer around the exact pickup district, flight reporting time, passenger count and luggage. Smart Group can collect from Deira, Al Qusais, Muhaisnah, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Bur Dubai, Downtown, Business Bay, DIFC, Al Barsha, Dubai Marina, JBR, JLT, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Al Quoz, Jebel Ali / JAFZA and other Dubai areas, with MPV, Toyota Hiace / Nissan Urvan, Toyota Coaster, 30–35-seat bus and 49–55-seat coach options. This matters because a pickup from eastern Dubai is far closer to SHJ than a pickup from Marina or Jebel Ali.
DUBAI → SHJ FLEET + FARE SNAPSHOT
SHJ can be close to eastern Dubai yet much farther from Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah or Jebel Ali. Quote by pickup zone and vehicle—not by a generic “Dubai to Sharjah” line.

View Fleet OptionCurrent public benchmarks checked 29 August 2026. Dubai→SHJ departure pricing can differ from SHJ→Dubai arrival pricing because parking, meet-and-greet and waiting are different. Final Smart Group written quotation controls.
Use current airport-market benchmarks by vehicle class and quote the exact Dubai pickup zone. Do not publish one flat Dubai→SHJ price for everything from Deira to Jebel Ali.
Current public 2026 benchmarks put Hiace-class SHJ/Dubai airport movements around AED 350–500, Coaster/minibus around AED 550, 35-seat coach around AED 750–800 and 50-seat coach around AED 950–1,000. One current route-specific guide also notes that Dubai→SHJ departure drop-off can differ from SHJ→Dubai arrival pickup because airport parking, waiting and meet-and-greet are not the same. Use the figures as planning ranges only.
| Vehicle / public reference | Current planning figure | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| 7–10 seat MPV class | Approx. AED 250–350 planning bracket | 3–6 travellers + bags |
| 12–15 seat Hiace / Urvan | AED 350–500 | 6–10 practical airport passengers |
| 20–30 seat Coaster | About AED 550 | Medium group |
| 35-seat coach | About AED 750–800 | Large group |
| 50-seat coach | About AED 950–1,000 | Large luggage-heavy group |
Public planning/reference figures only. Smart Group written quotation controls.
If the group also needs SHJ→Dubai after a later flight, quote the return as an airport-arrival movement because parking and waiting can apply differently. For a same-day return, compare two transfers against a retained vehicle/duty-time quote. Do not simply double a departure drop-off fare when the return includes flight tracking, parking and passenger waiting.
| Pattern | Quotation method |
|---|---|
| Dubai → SHJ departure only | One-way airport drop-off |
| Later SHJ → Dubai arrival | Separate arrival-transfer quote |
| Same-day return + driver waits | Duty / standby pricing |
| Two Dubai pickups before SHJ | Add multi-stop pickup time |
Return conditions can materially change the price.
The correct pickup process starts with the exact Dubai zone and flight reporting time. “Dubai” is too broad for route planning.
Send the airline, SHJ flight number, departure date and scheduled departure time. Sharjah Airport’s official site places SHJ 13 km southeast of Sharjah and says it is 15 km from central Dubai with an average 20-minute drive when there is no congestion. That official reference is useful for nearby/central origins, but it should not be applied to Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah or Jebel Ali. Smart Group should calculate pickup from the actual map pin and airline reporting time.
The driver should report to the agreed Dubai hotel entrance, residence, office, venue or bus-access point. For Al Qusais, Muhaisnah, International City and Silicon Oasis the airport corridor is relatively direct; for Downtown, Business Bay, Al Barsha, Marina, JBR, JLT, Palm Jumeirah or Jebel Ali, allow extra cross-city time. Confirm the driver/operations contact and pickup map pin before travel.
Traffic between Dubai and Sharjah is highly origin- and time-sensitive. The airport may be close to eastern Dubai but not to western/southern Dubai districts.
Sharjah Airport officially states that it is 15 km from central Dubai and about a 20-minute drive on average when there is no congestion. A current generic Dubai→SHJ road reference is about 37.4 km and 28 minutes by direct drive, illustrating how “Dubai” changes depending on the point selected. Use the real pickup: Al Qusais or Muhaisnah can be much faster than Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills or Jebel Ali, particularly in peak cross-emirate traffic.
| Pickup zone example | Planning effect |
|---|---|
| Al Qusais / Muhaisnah | Closest practical Dubai-side areas |
| Deira / Bur Dubai | Moderate road time; traffic sensitive |
| Downtown / Business Bay | Add central-Dubai traffic |
| Marina / JBR / Palm / Jebel Ali | Substantially longer cross-city movement |
Work backward from the airline’s SHJ check-in requirement, then add road time from the actual Dubai pickup, group loading and a congestion buffer. Peak commuting periods can materially extend the Dubai–Sharjah corridor. For larger groups, set one baggage-ready time and one coordinator; a 30-minute late group departure can erase the entire road contingency.
Use practical airport capacity. A nominally full van or bus may not have enough luggage space for a flight group.
A Kia Carnival/MPV suits a small family or executive group with moderate bags. A Toyota Hiace or Nissan Urvan is the better step-up for 6–10 airport passengers, multiple checked cases, strollers or special luggage. If every traveller has a large suitcase, do not sell the van at its maximum advertised passenger seat count.
Toyota Coaster/minibus is practical for medium groups, with 30–35-seat buses and 49–55-seat coaches for larger parties. For SHJ departures with heavy luggage, choose a coach layout with proper baggage bays rather than a staff-transport layout simply because it has more seats. High-capacity 60–84-seat buses are appropriate only when the vehicle layout actually suits the baggage load.
This service is for a private booked vehicle with driver and an agreed Dubai pickup—not an individual seat on a scheduled airport coach.
Families and private groups can be collected from Deira, Bur Dubai, Downtown, Business Bay, DIFC, Al Barsha, Marina, JBR, JLT, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, International City, Silicon Oasis and other areas. Tour groups departing on Air Arabia or other SHJ flights benefit from keeping passengers and luggage together in one van, minibus or coach rather than coordinating several taxis.
Corporate travellers can leave from offices in Business Bay, DIFC, Downtown, Media City, Internet City, JAFZA or hotels across Dubai. Executive parties may choose MPV/van classes; larger incentive groups and delegations can use Coaster or coach. The vehicle class, not just “VIP”, should be named in the written confirmation.
Public/shared transport can be cheaper for an individual, while a private group vehicle reserves the whole capacity and follows the group’s flight. Sharjah Airport is close enough to eastern Dubai that taxis may be convenient for small parties, but multiple taxis become harder to coordinate once there are more passengers, checked luggage, children, equipment or a need for a single departure time.
| Option | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Taxi / car | 1–4 travellers | Limited group/luggage capacity |
| Shared/public option | Budget individual traveller | Fixed stops/timing |
| Private van / minibus / coach | Known group + luggage | Reserved vehicle and coordinated pickup |
Departure drop-off and arrival pickup are different airport duties. Treat them separately in the quote.
For a Dubai→SHJ departure, a flight-time change only changes the road pickup when operations confirms a revised schedule; passengers should not independently delay pickup. On a return SHJ→Dubai arrival, flight tracking and waiting are more relevant because the driver may need to remain at the airport while the group clears baggage. State any waiting/grace allowance in writing.
Sharjah Airport currently publishes short-term arrival/departure parking at AED 16 for the first hour, AED 27 for two hours, AED 37 for three hours and AED 48 for four hours. A normal departure drop-off may avoid an arrival-parking duty, while a return pickup can create parking cost. Two Dubai pickups, an office detour, a Sharjah stop, late passengers or extended waiting should therefore be priced explicitly rather than hidden in a generic airport-transfer line.
The exact Dubai district should be captured because it changes both journey time and fare.
Outbound pickups can be arranged from Deira, Al Rigga, Al Qusais, Muhaisnah, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Bur Dubai, Downtown, Business Bay, DIFC, Al Barsha, Marina, JBR, JLT, Palm Jumeirah, JVC, Dubai Hills, Al Quoz, Media City, Internet City, Jebel Ali and JAFZA, with final drop at SHJ. For reverse SHJ→Dubai transfers, these become destination areas. Large-bus access should be checked for hotels and residences with restricted driveways.
The booking can include a later SHJ→Dubai return, a stop in Muwaileh Commercial, University City, Al Juraina, Al Nahda, Al Taawun, Al Majaz, Al Khan or a Dubai→Sharjah hotel→SHJ sequence. Each added stop changes route time. Sharjah Airport’s official location data—13 km southeast of Sharjah—helps explain why a city stop is a real additional segment, not the same as a direct airport run.
Send the exact pickup, flight and luggage details so Smart Group can calculate a realistic departure time and vehicle class.
Send the Dubai pickup address/map pin, date, airline and SHJ flight number, departure time, required reporting time, passenger count, checked and cabin luggage, special equipment, child-seat/mobility needs, extra stops and whether a return SHJ→Dubai transfer is required.
Before travel, confirm the vehicle class, pickup time, driver/operations contact, route, price, inclusions, parking/waiting basis and extra-stop rule. If a 30–55-seat coach is booked, confirm the pickup location can physically accept the vehicle.
Choose the closest fleet class or let Smart Group recommend the vehicle from passenger and luggage count.
